We always order the veggie combo and then other side meat dishes Kikil kitfo or chicken tibs-juicy. This has never failed us. You eat everything with injerra not sure about spelling but it's like a wrap you use. I also enjoy the hot tea with spices. The service here is great, they are so friendly and welcoming. Everyone is so sweet and it seems to be like a family run. The wait on friday nights and weekend is crazy, so try to come early, but it's worth it! On weekends they also have live music going or some sort of entertainment, so it's fun. The environment is casual. I love this place, we try to come as often as we can. Zeni is sooooo incredibly good. My boyfriend and I have gone there twice so far - the honey wine hooked us the first time. He enjoys the spiced tea as well. The injera is the perfect spongy texture, and what's more romantic than scooping up delectable pieces of meat the goat cheese is a great refresher, too while staring into each other's eyes? The dollar store around the corner is lots of fun. If you've been to an Ethopian place place before, you'll know that the food is family style with a venegence. The juices soak through the fluffy yummyness that is Injera and you're in heaven. I wish I could remember which meat dishes are my fave.. None of us had experience with Ethiopian food except for the Friend. And I guess the Friend's experience was horrible at best. So that kind of kept our expectations low... But when we started waiting in line, the restaurant smelled DIVINE. And all the yelp reviews helped too. I loved it, and I would love to go back to Zeni when I come back to visit the Bay Area again.
